Confirmation is an important part of a lifetime journey of faith as a follower of Jesus Christ, allowing you to publicly put your trust in God. If you were baptized when you were a child, your parents and godparents made promises on your behalf. As a young person or adult, you may be ready to affirm these promises for yourself and commit to following the Christian faith. If you have not been baptised it is still possible to come forward for confirmation – please just ask about this.
At a special confirmation service the bishop will lay their hands on your head and ask God’s Holy Spirit to give you the strength and commitment to live your life in the way God would wish. Your friends and family, as well as the local Christian community, will be there to support and pray for you.
