Sunday Club meets on the fourth Sundays of the month at 9.45 am. Everyone goes into church and during the last verse of the first hymn the children and leaders leave and go to Church House next door for special Sunday club activities – typically learning from the Bible, crafts and games. The children return to the church in time to come up to the altar for a blessing at communion time and to treat everyone to a ‘show and tell’ of their activities. After the final hymn there is time for drink and biscuits .
Monthly Family Service
At 11am on the 2nd Sunday of every month we have an informal Family Service to which everyone who is young at heart is invited. The children help in various ways – by reading bible stories or leading the prayers, taking part in question and answer sessions, perhaps by colouring pictures or even playing games. Do come along and be part of the church family, worshipping God and thanking him for his goodness. This is preceded by activities in Church House from 10.30am, linked to the theme of the service. Refreshments served, giving the 9.45am and 11am congregations a chance to mix and meet each other. Fairtrade and cake stalls also available during this time.
There is a toddlers’ service twice a month, on a Monday afternoon at 12.15pm. The toddlers’ service is a simple meeting allowing parents and carers with pre-school children to feel at home in church. We begin by helping ring the bell and we sing a short song. Then we all gather round for a stories, prayers and simple activities. We welcome everyone who cares for pre-school children to come along and enjoy the afternoon with us and introduce your toddler to the church.
