The children’s choir meets on Thursday evenings from 6.45 to 7.25pm in church. We begin with some warm-up exercises and a bit of musical theory. We learn the hymns and songs for the coming Sunday, the children help plan and come up with ideas for some services, and we look forward to the special festivals such as Christmas when the children’s choir helps to lead us. On Sundays and for special occasions we join up with the adult choir. Everyone is encouraged to sing on Sundays and also at weddings. (The children do get paid a small fee to sing at weddings!) The children's choir is for anyone aged 7 to 16. Please contact Ben for more information (01295 270174) |

| Genesis Group | |
The Genesis Group is a club for young people between the ages of 10 and 12 meeting weekly to learn more about the Christian Faith and if they wish to, prepare for confirmation. The group is led by the vicar and culminates in the Annual Service of Confirmation. The Genesis group runs from January to July each year, usually on a Tuesday afternoon. Members of the congregation are asked to sponsor candidates.
| Monthly Family Service | |
At 11:30am on the 1st Sunday of every month we have an informal half hour Family Service which contains fun and laughter, sometimes a bit of chaos, inevitable toddler noise, but also moments of near stillness and reflection. We worship God and give him thanks for blessings we enjoy, we learn and think about God and life and we pray and ask for God’s help in all our life. The children join in answering questions, acting out Bible stories, lighting candles and leading prayers and singing. Why not risk joining us and playing your part?
| Music Group | |
We always want more instrumentalists! We have a couple who play regularly at the Family service on the 1st Sunday of each month at 11.30am. Sometimes we get a band together and the vicar would like to do this more often. If sufficient people offered their skills we would meet in Church House on the Sunday morning before the service or evening in the week beforehand. | Sunday Club
At 9.45am every Sunday (except the 1st Sunday of the month when we have a Family Service at 11:30am) we have a friendly group of children and a willing band of adult helpers. We all start in the church with the rest of the congregation. The vicar, Ben, starts the service with a theme for the week and a chance for news to be shared, we say our opening prayer and then have our first hymn or song. In the last verse of this the children go across to Church House for their own special Sunday Club activities, learning from the Bible, discussing and usually making something crafty.
The children then return into the service in the church in time to come up to the altar for a blessing at communion time and to show and to tell everyone else what they have been doing. After the final hymn it is time for drink and biscuits.
| Toddlers' Servie | |
There is a toddlers' service twice a month, on a Tuesday at 2:30pm. The Toddlers’ service is a simple meeting allowing parents and carers with pre-school children to feel at home in church. We begin by helping ring the bell and then sing a short song. We then gather round for a story, a prayer, another song and a simple activity.
| Youth Drama Group | |
This thriving group of 8-13 year olds put on fantastic shows twice a year and a few other fillers in between. They meet in school on Friday nights from 7-9pm during term-time. (website bodrama@hotmail.co.uk)
| Youth Group | |
This is the JAM group for 11-14 year olds who meet every month on a Sunday afternoon for activities ranging from ten pin bowling to bike rides and prepare to take a part leading in the monthly evening Youth Communion Service. JAM – Is to do with the doughnuts we eat and also reminds us that life is about Jesus And Me. We also join in with activities with other church youth groups such as the special PULSE events, bringing together the 13-19 age group from all the churches in the area.
