Ben Phillips, Vicar of Bodicote since April 17th 1996. Ben grew up in Warwick where St Mary’s Church Choir on his doorstep gave him a good community and a lifelong love of music. While attending a Scripture Union Adventure holiday as a teenager Christianity became a real option of a life and relationship with God rather than just a set of words to be sung about. With ups and downs along the way he has continued this exciting journey growing in knowledge of the grace of God. |
Along the way he fell in love and married and has a family to show for it, he stumbled into a choral scholarship at Kings College Cambridge, studied monkeys and apes and was offered a job with the Mars Corporation. He never took this up but worked with homeless people in London, sang in a few professional choirs to supplement his income and then trained for Ordination.
When he escapes from the mess of his study and the busyness of parish life Ben enjoys walking in the countryside, singing in the North Cotswold Chamber Choir, food, occasional films, and his family of monkeys.
